News on February 1rst, 2012 New calculation for Capital Gains Tax in France
The allowance for years of owning has changed. After the end of January, it is possible to reduce the capital gains tax of:
2% for each year between the 6th and 17th
4% for each year between the 18th and 24th
8% for each year between the 25th and 30th
By consequence, a capital gains made on a property owned for more than 30 years, will benefit from an 100% allowance. It will be totaly exempted.

News on September 19th, 2011 New calculation for Capital Gains Tax in France
The fixed allowance of 1.000 euros disappear on 19 September 2011.
News on January 1st, 2011
• Capital gains on real estate made by individuals will from January 1rst 2011 be taxed at the rate of 19% (instead of 16%) for residents of the European Economic Area (plus 12.3% of social charges for French tax residents only).
• New rate of Social contribution on Capital Gains Tax (only for French resident) : 12,3%
• Non-residents exoneration: Cancel the exoneration for the second sale.
